Piazza Castello Borelli
Description
Piazzetta Castello Borelli represents one of the most picturesque panoramic viewpoints in Borghetto Santo Spirito, situated at the foot of the historic complex of the same name overlooking the promontory of Capo Santo Spirito. The small square takes its name from Castello Borelli, a Neo-Gothic style building constructed starting from 1870 by engineer Borelli, characterized by an articulated ensemble of structures, turrets and walkways that develop between the sea and the slopes of Monte Piccaro. The area also preserves historical evidence of great interest, from traces of the Roman era to the ancient monastic hospice of Santo Spirito, from which the name of the village itself derives. Thanks to its dominant position on the coastline and proximity to the sea, the small square is today an appreciated place for stopping and strolling, capable of combining historical value, architectural charm and panoramic views of the Ligurian Riviera.
